We are so excited to be bringing another team back to Colorado to take on a 14’er. This is a co-ed trip, and a great option for couples. Though we have several backpacking 14’er trips on the calendar, this team will spend each night in an Airbnb, which means hot showers, good food, and an awesome summit adventure.
This is a beginner friendly adventure, but there is no such thing as an easy 14’er. Team members will be expected to devote themselves to a season of training and preparation in the weeks/months leading up to the trip.
This adventure is more than just a climb. We will provide all team members with devotional materials during the season of preparation and we will be devoting significant time on the trip itself to prayer, personal growth, and reflection.
Dates: July 17-22, 2027
Some team members will choose to drive their own vehicles directly to Breckenridge, but we are also happy to arrange pickup and drop off at Denver International Airport. Transfer to/from Denver is included in the trip cost.
Team members that are flying in will need to arrive in Denver airport before 4:00PM on July 17th and plan to depart after noon on July 22nd.
Cost: $1,650 per person
- A non-refundable $400 deposit is required at the time of registration to secure your spot on the team. Please read our Trip Cancellation and Refund policy before registering for your adventure.
- Full trip payment of $1,650 is due before June 1st, 2027.
- We will work with each team member to arrange a payment schedule.
- We offer a $300 discount for couples joining the adventure. For example, a couple would pay $3,000 instead of $3,300 ($1650 Xs 2 people – $300 discount)
What is included:
- All food throughout the duration of the adventure–a typical day’s menu will be light breakfast (bagels/cereal/oatmeal), sandwiches and snacks for lunch, and a home cooked meal or restaurant meal for dinner (spaghetti, tacos, pizza, etc.). We will keep the airbnb stocked with snacks and drinks.
- 5 nights in an Airbnb in Breckenridge
- All ground transportation throughout the trip, including transfer to/from Denver International Airport
- White water rafting adventure
What is NOT included:
- Team members are responsible for their own flights to and from Denver or their travel directly to Breckenridge should they choose to drive their own vehicles.
- Team members are responsible for their own trekking gear (daypack, clothes, hiking shoes/boots, trekking poles, head lamp, etc.) There is no need for a large backpack or any sleeping gear since we will be staying in an Airbnb. We will provide an extensive and detailed packing/gear list for all of our participants.
- Though meals are provided, most team members will choose to pack their own snacks for the climb day.

Trek Difficulty: Moderate
This year’s team will seek to climb Mount Bierstadt. Bierstadt is not a technical mountain, but no 14,000ft peak should ever be underestimated. This adventure is designed to be novice friendly–almost anyone with reasonable fitness can safely summit Mount Bierstadt. However, we expect the summit day to take between 5 and 7 hours, so all team members need to be prepared for a long day on the mountain.
We will be offering a second optional 14’er climb during this adventure for those desiring another challenge. We will choose one of the 14’ers in the Sawatch Range (likely Yale, Harvard, or Huron) for the additional climb. The additional climb will take place at the same time as the white water rafting adventure, so those choosing to climb on this day will not be able to participate in the white water rafting.
There is no technical gear required for this adventure. Team members will only need a small backpack that can hold water, snacks, warm layers (gloves/jacket/beanie), and a rain shell.
Itinerary:
Day 1
Team members will arrive in Denver before 4:00PM. We will pick you up at the airport, enjoy a restaurant dinner, and make our way to our airbnb in Breckenridge.
Day 2
This is our acclimatization day. We will pack a lunch and make a 1 hour drive to Kite Lake where team members will be given several hours for devotional time in a gorgeous high altitude location. This day is really about readying yourself physically, spiritually, and emotionally for the challenge that awaits you on our climb day. After our time at Kite Lake, we will head back to Breckenridge for dinner in our Airbnb.
Day 3
Today is choose your adventure day. Each team member will choose to either 1) attempt a climb of a 14’er (Yale, Harvard, or Huron) or 2) participate in a white water rafting adventure. Those choosing to climb will be on the road the trailhead very early to begin their climb. All three of the potential mountains are quite a bit tougher than Bierstadt and we will be moving at a much quicker pace on this climb than on Bierstadt, so only those who have taken their preparation seriously should choose the moutain option on this day. Those choosing white water rafting will have a relaxing morning in the Airbnb before making the 2 hour drive to Buena Vista for their rafting adventure. Both the climbers and rafters will meet for dinner in Buena Vista before making the drive back to Breckenridge.
Day 4
This is a built in rest day in Breckenridge. We have no agenda for this day except team dinner together at a local pizza place. Team members are on their own for lunch on this day.
Day 5
We will be up very early (~3AM) to drive to the trailhead for Mount Bierstadt. There is no such thing as an easy 14’er but Bierstadt is a beautiful and novice friendly peak. This will be an incredibly rewarding day and the views from the summit are exceptional. After we summit, we will grab lunch at a nearby restaurant before making our way back to Breckenridge for a fun evening and celebratory dinner.

Day 6
We will be up early enough to make the trip back to Denver for everyone to catch their flights. Hopefully, we will all go home with full hearts, incredible memories, and unbelievable photos.
