THE ITINERARY
DAY BY DAY
Here is a look at what we will experience on the adventure. The details may shift slightly, but this gives you a sense of the adventure that awaits.
DAY 1 // MAY 11
TRAVEL TO FRESNO
Team members will arrive in Fresno before 4:00PM PST. After we get settled into our Airbnb, we will go out for a nice dinner and spend some time getting to know each other and setting vision for the rest of the adventure.
DAY 2 // MAY 12
SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast (~6:30AM), we will make the 1.5 hour drive to Sequoia National Park where we will be doing a couple of moderate hikes. The fist hike will take us up to Moro Rock where we will get a 360 degree view of the high Sierras. Next, we will make our way into the forrest for a 3 mile hike on the Congress Trail among the giant redwood trees, including the General Sherman tree, the world’s largest living organism. We will set aside a couple of hours for devotional time in the forrest before returning to our airbnb in Fresno.
DAY 3 // MAY 13
KING'S CANYON NATIONAL PARK
We will enjoy a relaxing morning before heading into King's Canyon National Park to drive the scenic byway. We will make a few brief stops in King's Canyon before driving 2.5 hours to our airbnb in Groveland where we will spend the next three nights.
DAY 4 // MAY 14
MIST TRAIL
We will make an early trip into Yosemite to hike the Mist Trail. This is a 7 mile round trip moderately stressful hike to visit both Vernal and Nevada Falls. At this point in the year, both waterfalls should be spectacular. We will definitely be getting wet on this one (they named it the mist trail for a reason), so you will want a good rain shell. After our hike, we will make our way back to Groveland for dinner and an early bed time. We have a difficult day coming on Day 5.
DAY 5 // MAY 15
YOSEMITE POINT
We will be up very early on Day 5 to make our way back into Yosemite National Park to take on one of the most iconic hikes in America, Yosemite Point. This is a very challenging 11 mile round trip hike with more than 4,000ft of vertical climbing. Though there are no technical portions on this hike, it will be a very long and strenuous day. That said, the views from the top of Yosemite Point are simply unbelievable. We will be eating sandwiches for lunch on this day at the midpoint of our hike, and after we descend, we will enjoy an early dinner in the Yosemite Lodge before making our way back to our Airbnb in Groveland.
DAY 6 // MAY 16
DEPART FRESNO
We will get up early and make our way back to Fresno for our return flights. Please do not book a flight before 12:00PM PST.
