We are so excited to be returning to one of our favorite regions of the USA, the high Sierras. This action-packed 5 day trip will start/finish in Sacramento, CA and will spend 2 days exploring the magnificent Yosemite National Park. This adventure has a very aggressive itinerary where our team will take on two challenging hikes on consecutive days (Cloud’s Rest & Yosemite Point). We have the option to modify the itinerary to take on an easier hike on the 2nd day if our team leaders feel it is necessary.
Dates: September 2-6, 2026

Trek Difficulty: Difficult
Both of the hikes we will be attempting on this adventure are difficult for different reasons. The first, Cloud’s Rest, is a long 13 mile hike. It is not particularly steep or strenuous, but it does involve some manageable exposure at the top of the Cloud’s Rest. We have found that all of our participants have handled it fine, but it can be a bit intimidating for those with a fear of heights.
The second hike to Yosemite Point is a bit shorter (only 11 miles) but it is much more strenuous. There is very little flat ground on this hike. It is an aggressive 4000ft vertical climb up from the valley floor to the top of Yosemite Falls, but the views are spectacular all the way up.
If we need to modify the itinerary after the hike to Cloud’s Rest, we will pivot the second day’s hike to the Mist Trail. It is also very scenic, but much less strenuous.
Itinerary:
Day 1 (Sept 2nd)
Team members will arrive in Sacramento at some point in the afternoon/evening. We will be staying in an Airbnb/Hotel near the airport. Team members are on their own for food on this day.
Day 2 (Sept 3rd)
We will have a lazy morning before making our way south to our Airbnb in Groveland, CA, which will be home base for the trip. We will have a nice restaurant dinner and an early bed time. We will be on the road very early for our climb of Cloud’s Rest on day 3.

Day 3 (Sept 4th)
We will be up very early on Day 3 to make our way into Yosemite National Park to take on one of the most iconic hikes in America, to the summit of Cloud’s Rest. This hike has some small climbs and passes along some pretty ponds and meadows befor beginning the final ascent to Cloud’s Rest. The ascent is not long, but it is a bit steep in places and the summit has some exposure. That said, the views looking down on to Half Dome and the rest of the Yosemite Valley are incredible. We will retrace our steps back to our cars, take a few minutes to soak in a nice lake near the parking lot before making the drive back to Groveland for a restaurant dinner.
Day 4 (Sept 5th)
We will be up early again and headed back to Yosemite for our second day of hiking. This time to the famous Yosemite Point. Yosemite Point requires a very challenging 11 mile round trip hike with more than 4,000ft of vertical climbing. Though there are no technical portions on this hike, it will be a very long and strenuous day. That said, the views from the top of Yosemite Point are simply unbelievable. We will be eating sandwiches for lunch on this day at the midpoint of our hike, and after we descend, we will enjoy an early dinner in the Yosemite Lodge before making our way back to our Airbnb in Groveland.
Day 5 (Sept 6th)
We will drive back to Sacramento in the morning so team members can begin their flights home. Please do not schedule your return flights before Noon on September 6th.
