The trip will start/finish at San Francisco airport. Team members are responsible for arranging their own transport to and from San Francisco. Team members can arrive at SFO anytime before 3:00PM on September 3rd and should plan to depart after noon on September 6th.
Cost: $1,250
- A non-refundable $400 deposit is required at the time of registration to secure your spot on the team. This team is extremely limited in size so please get your deposit in as soon as possible.

What is included:
- 3 nights of accommodation in an Airbnb in Groveland, CA
- 3 nights of restaurant dinners

Trek Difficulty: Difficult
This adventure requires team members to complete two consecutive days of strenuous hiking in Yosemite National Park. Though we will not be encountering severe elevation on this trip, neither hike is easy, and taking them on back to back will be a significant challenge for many. We suggest all team members devote themselves to a season of physical training that should include a mix of smaller training hikes, strength work, and significant cardiovascular exercise.
Itinerary:
Day 1 (Sept. 3)
Team members will arrive in San Francisco before 3:00PM (try to arrive as early in the day as possible). We will gather the team and make the drive to our home base of Groveland, CA where we will check in to our Airbnb and grab dinner at a fun restaurant.
Day 2 (Sept. 4)
We will be up very early and out the door by 4:45AM to make the drive into Yosemite. Depending upon our team’s fitness and challenge level, we will either take on the Mist Trail to Nevada and Vernal falls (most likely option) or trek to the Yosemite Point. Both are challenging trails that will take most of the day to complete. We will finish Day 2 with a dinner in Yosemite at the lodge before heading back to our Airbnb.
Day 3 (Sept. 5)
We will be up very early again and headed back to Yosemite where will will be taking on one of the two iconic Yosemite day hikes, either Half Dome or Cloud’s Rest. If we happen to secure a permit to climb Half Dome from the preseason lottery (unlikely but not impossible…we will know in March ’24), we will modify this itinerary a bit to accommodate the Half Dome climb. Summiting Half Dome is not just a hike, but involves a 400ft vertical climb up a series of cables (google it…it’s pretty insane).
If we don’t secure a Half Dome permit, we will be hiking to Cloud’s Rest. This epic 13+ mile hike was one of the highlights of our 2023 trekking season. Though the hike is long, it is on fantastic trail through a beautiful forrest until the last half mile which consists of an awesome scramble up a granite outcropping to simply unbelievable views. Whether we end up on top of Half Dome or Cloud’s Rest, you are in for a spectacular day you will never forget. When we get off trail on Day 3, we will have a celebratory dinner back in Groveland.
Day 4 (Sept. 6)
Team members will fly home on Day 4 from San Francisco. Please do not schedule any flights before noon on this day.
