We are so excited to be bringing another backpacking team back to Colorado to take on a 14’er. This is a rugged adventure that will spend 2 nights in a tent in the Colorado backcountry. We are open to taking novice trekkers on this adventure, but there is no such thing as an easy 14’er. Team members will be expected to devote themselves to a season of training and preparation in the weeks/months leading up to the trip.
Dates: July 12-16, 2026
Some team members will choose to drive their own vehicles directly to Buena Vista, but we are also happy to arrange pickup and drop off at Denver International Airport. Transfer to/from Denver is included in the trip cost.
Team members that are flying in will need to arrive in Denver airport on July 12th and plan to depart on July 16th.
***Mount Huron Add-On***
Team members joining our Mt. Harvard team have the option of pigging backing our Huron Peak adventure (July 16-19) together with Mt. Harvard to make a total of an 8 day adventure with two summits. Our Huron Peak adventure costs $975 on it’s own, but those doing both Harvard and Huron together will get a $500 discount ($250 off of each adventure), and can do both trips together for $1,625.
Cost: $1,150 per person
- A non-refundable $400 deposit is required at the time of registration to secure your spot on the team. Please read our Trip Cancellation and Refund policy before registering for your adventure.
- Full trip payment of $1,150 is due before June 1st, 2026.
- We will work with each team member to arrange a payment schedule.
What is included:
- All food throughout the duration of the adventure–a typical day’s menu will be light breakfast (bagels/cereal/oatmeal), sandwiches and snacks for lunch, and a bagged camp style meal for dinner.
- Two nights in a hotel/airbnb and 2 nights in a tent in the back country.
- All ground transportation throughout the trip, including transfer to/from Denver International Airport
What is NOT included:
- Team members are responsible for their own flights to and from Denver or their travel directly to Denver should they choose to drive their own vehicles.
- Team members are responsible for their own trekking gear (backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, pillow, clothes, hiking shoes/boots, trekking poles, head lamp, etc.) We will provide an extensive and detailed packing/gear list for all of our participants.
- Though meals are provided, most team members will choose to supplement with their own snacks for the backcountry and climb days.

Trek Difficulty: Difficult
Harvard is a low level class 3 peak–Most of the peak is class 1 hiking, but there is a small amount of exciting scrambling near the summit of the peak. Harvard is the 3rd highest peak in Colorado and it is one of the most beautiful summits in the state. We have summited it multiple times and each of our teams have loved their experience on the mountain.
Harvard is not among the toughest peaks in Colorado, but there is no such thing as an easy 14’er. Consequently, we recommend all of our team members devote themselves to a season of training before attempting this trek. The more cardio fitness you can obtain before your adventure, the more you will enjoy the hike to the summit.
Itinerary:
Day 1 (July 12th)
Team members will arrive in Denver and we will transfer to our team hotel. Dinner is provided, but if you arrive early enough to need/want food before dinner, that is on you.
Day 2 (July 13th)
We will travel early in the day to the Harvard peak trailhead and begin our hike into the basin where we will set up our basecamp. The hike is around 4-5 miles and will be challenging with a full pack. We will enjoy a camp style meal around a campfire and our first night in the tents.
Day 3 (July 14th)
This is our built in acclimatization/devotional day. There is no real agenda for this day other than to spend some devotional time with the Lord and ready yourself for the climb that is coming on Day 4. You will need to bring your lunch for this day, but dinner will be another camp style meal around the campfire.
Day 4 (July 15th)
We will be up early and headed to the summit of Mount Harvard. The scramble near the summit is very fun and the views from the top of the peak are incredible. After enjoying our summit, we will retrace our steps back to our tents, break camp and hike back down to the cars. We will transfer to our team hotel back in Denver and enjoy a much needed shower and celebratory dinner.
Day 5 (July 16th)
Team members that are only doing Harvard will depart on this day. Those joining us for Huron Peak will have a restful day in the hotel before heading to the Huron peak campsite.
